"Look Ma, No Hands!"

$45.00

Need some more whimsy in your life? Look no farther! This happy elephant is sure to inspire a smile every time you see it! Also a great gift for your graduate launching into independent life

3” x 3.5”

Scrimshaw is an engraving art form: the original “Look, Ma!” was engraved on a fossil material, and then a mold was made from the original, picking up the hundreds of tiny cuts that make up the image. Each piece is then hand cast, and then finished by hand by rubbing ink into the cuts to bring out the image. Each piece is cleaned and polished, and then set into a hand made frame that goes through much of the same process. Hand made in Galena, Ohio, by artists Kim & Katherine McClelland of Tree of Life Artworks.
